Back in the day (circa March 2000) when I would drink, this was my sit down and chill drink of choice.
Let’s just forget the fact that the majority of us have a DVR, and things like tonight are not even issues. Obviously, one would just record the 1 hour show and watch the live sporting event without question. I cannot understand how people can watch a sporting event for the first time, on their own personal tape delay. Especially when the outcome has already been determined.
Anyway, tonight the decision comes down to this. Do I watch Smallville at 8pm? Or do I watch the Broncos and the Browns? Last year this wouldn’t have been an issue, because I had shitty ass Cablevision, but Verizon FiOS offers me so much more, including the NFL Network HD! You all know that I am a Superman fan, but I am even more of an Erica Durance fan. With that whiney and needy Lana out of the way, we get a ton more of Miss Lois Lane this season. So, in the world where recording devices do not exist, we skip the first half debut of Gaydy Brady Quinn and watch the only show worth watching on the CW.

get smallville on then punch the number into the nfl network…for me 212
when the game starts i press pause on 212 and recall smallville….watch smallville until the commercial break and then recall nfl network press play….when football goes to commercial pause it…recall smallville and hit play and watch
as long as no pause is longer than 30 minutes – you can watch both seamlessly – and skip almost all commercials…and most likely finish the football game live rather than dvr delay

I have an interesting dilemna as well.
Smallville is on at 8pm. So is the NFL game that I wish to enjoy the downfall and public humiliation of Brady Quinn in. And so is the Terps at Mountanieers in their only primetime game of the year.
I’m guessing that I will set the DVR for Smallville (as well as 30 Rock, and Life on Mars {which by the way is awesome}) as I watch the Terp game and watching the Browns/Broncos during commercials.

That idea of Florio’s is retarded. He based the whole thing on how bad 4 team divisions can be. The truth is that a five team division can be almost as bad and actually just as bad but less often. If the team you added to the 4 bad teams that makes up the AFC West was bad, then you would have a bad 5 team division.

Believe last season they announced Lost would end after season 6 (something like 2 16-episode seasons). the hope was that would get rid of the useless fluff episodes they seemed to throw in that didn’t advance the story, since they now had a deadline. They were considering a movie at the end of it also

It was supposed to be 3 more 16 episode seasons starting with last year. Then last year was cut short with the strike. Now they say they will have 2 18 episode seasons.
They didn’t have episodes that didn’t advance the plot. Those episodes are important for later.
The only case of an episode that really didn’t do much was the Nikki/Paulo episode and that was done to advance the plot so they would both go away because that’s what everyone wanted.
oh yeah, i hated that writers strike. It killed heroes last season and fouled up what should’ve been scrubs last season
